These newly installed signs at Staunton’s Gypsy Hill Park are part of a recent community-funded restoration project to improve and restore the main entrance at the park. The Augusta Garden Club donated $5,000 to the project to help fund the signs in honor of the club’s 2019 centennial year. The interpretive signs illustrate the history, development, and local cultural associations of the park in six full-color panels. Located in a newly designed pedestrian courtyard behind the historic pump house, they provide an additional attraction and a relaxing gathering place in the city’s 1890s park.
